Ferrari will travel to Australia in good spirits for the first Grand Prix of 2016. Sebastian Vettel set the fastest time on the final day of testing, a 1:22.852 on the supersoft tyres. The best time of the week was also for the Scuderia, a 1:22.765 from Kimi Raikkonen yesterday. Ferrari is looking well prepared to give Mercedes a run for their money this year.

I hope all this sandbagging from Merc will come back to haunt them when they start pushing the car. At least they could have done some fast laps on the ultrasofts today...

Sounds good but means nothing, Merc have been sandbagging all the way.
As far as I know, they did not even touch the super or ultrasoft tyres...
I respect Ferrari for trying the new halo protection, at least these guys are involved with the very fabric of F1. But can you blame Merc for wanting to keep everything as it is...

It would be nice to see a comparison of the fastest times on the same tyres.

  • If these tests are even remotely representative to what'll happen this year, it looks like a fun one. Mercedes, of course, sandbagged as usual, and Ferrari looks alot stronger than the rest, but the grid do look closer. Will be fun to see things like the Toro Rosso vs Red Bull battle and such.
