Santino Ferrucci has ruled out making the jump to Formula One in the near future, despite enjoying two trouble-free days of running for Haas at the Silverstone in-season test.
The American finished the second day of the test seventh fastest with a time of 1 minute 33.141 seconds, but has dismisse dthe idea of emulating the likes of Max Verstappen, Daniil Kvyat, and Kimi Raikkonen in making a quick step up to F1 from junior formulae.
"Quickly to F1 is out of the picture, I've got a lot of learning to do," said Ferrucci. "It just depends on how our season goes from here onwards we'll make a decision sometime after Spa, Monza. Hopefully we get to step up in GP2 but if not another season in GP3 never hurts."
"I think everyone will agree Max [Verstappen] is special. I got to race against him in F3 so I can say he's a really good driver, really smart and really clever. To go from karting to F3 to F1 is something you don't see every day - the only other driver that comes to mind who did that was Kimi Raikkonen. (Raikkonen graduated from Formula Renault to F1 with Sauber in 2001 with just 23 car races under his belt.)
"It's probably not something in my plans, I prefer to progress a little bit more and be a bit more mature when I get in the car," added Ferrucci. "No need to rush anything."
