Nico Rosberg has signed a new two-year contract with Mercedes, keeping him at the team until the end of 2018.
The team announced the deal by posting a video of Rosberg and Mercedes' motorsport boss Toto Wolff signing a piece of paper.
Bild newspaper reports that the contract includes bonuses in the region of 45 million Euros.
When asked about how contract negotiations affect his driving, Rosberg said: "Of course you need to be careful, because it can influence and take some energy away."
"I have Gerhard Berger who is handling it for me, specifically to make sure that I don't lose any focus on the racing," he added
