Nico Rosberg and Max Verstappen may have been close at the top of the standings in final practice for the Singapore Grand Prix, but the star of the session was undoubtedly a lizard who walked onto the track.
Not long after the session was stopped to clear up debris from a crash for Pascal Wehrlein, Verstappen radioed his team with the bizarre observation.
"There's a giant lizard on the track," the teenager said.
His Red Bull team could see the funny side, responding with: "You came face to face with Godzilla then."
Luckily the animal made his way off the circuit quickly and was unharmed.
The unusual incident comes 12 months after a man walked onto the track during last year's race in Singapore.
