Alex Zanardi made another return to motorsport last weekend, racing in the Italian GT championship.
The former Formula One and CART driver, who recently won two gold medals at the 2016 Paralympic games in Rio de Janeiro, raced a BMW M6 GT3 and finished in sixth place in the opening race of the weekend - his first motor race since the 2015 Spa 24 Hours.
Then on Sunday, he made the most of a front row start to win, capping off a remarkable few months for the Italian who has managed to continue having a successful motor racing career despite losing his legs in an accident at the Lausitzring in 2001.
