Jolyon Palmer eyeing Renault podiums

Jolyon Palmer thinks that Renault will be regular contenders for points this year.

The Anglo-French factory team returnewd to F1 last year but struggled to replicate their previous form.

But Palmer, who will again drive for the team in 2017, this time alongside Nico Hulkenberg, thinks that regular points will be achievable for Renault,

"We think the top three - Mercedes, Red Bull, Ferrari - will continue to lead, but we can fight in the next group with Williams, Force India, McLaren and maybe Toro Rosso," Palmer told Autocar.

"We want to be fighting for points in every race."

Despite the team only finishing as high as seventh in 2016 - with Kevin Magnussen in Russia - Palmer isn't ruling out a push for a podium finish.

"I dream of a podium," he admitted.

"Obviously, everything's up in the air at present. If we scored a podium, it would have to be the result of a perfect race.

"But if Force India can get two of them in 2016, we can do it this year. That's what I feel right now, anyway," said Palmer.

Keep dreaming Palmer, your car will not be near a podium next season.

Not sure as yet, they(Renault) might surprise you.... also Palmer is getting better not sure what level he is currently driving at. He was slightly better than KMAG and improving. Its hard to tell since last years car was not that good.
