Donington Park is not in the running to potentially replace Silvertsone as host for the British Grand Prix.
Yesterday, the BRDC announced that they could sack the British Grand Prix at Silverstone after 2019 due to not being able to keep up with running funds.
Silverstone has hosted every British Grand Prix since 1987, and if the BRDC follows through with their proposals and no alternate British track is found, it will be the first time there is no British Grand Prix since the drivers World Championship was established in 1950.
F1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone said that two other tracks have contacted him about hosting the event, but Donington can now be ruled out.
“Since the very successful restart of Donington Park six years ago, the board at the circuit has consistently made it clear that we have no intention of bidding for the British Grand Prix", a circuit spokesperson told Sky Sports F1.
Donington Park hosted the 1993 European Grand Prix, where Ayrton Senna famously won the race by over a minute.
