Team Director at McLaren Zak Brown is a big fan of Stoffel Vandoorne as is excited to see him in Formula One next year. Vandoorne will partake in his first full season of F1 in 2017, and Brown has likened him to some of the greats.
"With Fernando Alonso and Stoffel we have two top drivers. Vandoorne could potentially belong at the absolute top. That's right, I count Stoffel on the list Michael Schumacher, Lewis Hamilton and Ayrton Senna."
"Stoffel and Fernando together in one team will be great. Stoffel is an incredible driver, a future world champion, he will probably make some rookie mistakes, but he will learn quickly."
Vandoorne is eager for the start of his debut season. "Of course, media activities are not the most fun aspect of the work, but it is part of it. And yes, driving the car, that's what it's actually about. Man, you have no idea how much I long for the first race in Melbourne. The season can not start soon enough ... "
