Antonio Giovinazzi took part in his first test as Ferrari reserve driver yesterday, a role which was allocated to him at the end of last year. The 23 year old took Ferrari's 2015 car, the SF15-T around the Fiorano circuit.
“It was a wonderful feeling, as this was my first time driving a Formula 1 car,” Giovinazzi said. "For an Italian, driving out of the pits in a Ferrari is an amazing experience.
“The actual testing was very interesting, with so many procedures to follow. But the guys in the team were very nice to me and extremely helpful and that made everything much easier. I'd like to thank the whole team.”
Giovinazzi competed in the GP2 series in 2016 and narrowly missed out on claiming the title, as he was pipped at the final round by team mater Pierre Gasly.
