Hamilton not a fan of team mate data sharing

Three time world champion Lewis Hamilton has said that he wishes that team mates would not share data. Currently, team mates usually study each others data to get a reading on where they are faster etc.

However, Hamilton is not a fan of this, and would like to see a clampdown on the rule.

"I go out, do my laps, do all my homework - the other guy can see everything," said Hamilton in an online interview for UBS. "I don't think they should do that. I have asked my team, I don't want to see my team mate's. I don't feel it's fair that he brings his 'A' game and I should be able to study his 'A' game on a computer."

Hamilton will be paired with a new team mate for 2017 in the shape of Valtteri Bottas who replaces the retired Nico Rosberg.

"I'm not against team engineers sharing data, but I think the drivers shouldn't be able to study each other's data," Hamilton insisted. "There are times where, because you only have a limited amount of time and we have all these things we can change, sometimes you just decide to go the wrong way and start on the wrong foot.

"Unless you go back and go the direction the team's other car is going, you're just lost, there's just nothing you can do. Those are some times things you have to do, and I think for a team going forwards that's not a bad thing."

"I think it should be 'you hired me because I am the best, you hired me because I've studied, because I've won every class that I've been in, I've not missed one in terms of winning', and you're hiring whoever the next person is because they've hopefully won some things along the way as well and you're hiring them for their ultimate skill all round.

"You've got to find the limit yourself, that's the whole challenge of being a racing driver. When I get in this new car it's seeing what the limit of it is and if I can't do it on my own then I'm not good enough and I don't deserve to be there - and there are some drivers that don't."

All Bottas has to do to win the championship is have half-decent starts.

  • LOL this prick copied everything in the book possible when he was paired with Alonso, Button, Heikkie, Rosberg you name it. It was an open fact, all the drivers do it. Now he wants the rules changed ergo someone's scared already of Bottas.

    • So it seems, really wonder how Bottas will stack compared to HamHam.

    • It's obvious whats going on in his mind, he is having sleepless nights over Bottas beating him on a regular basis. It's stomach-able when Alonso, Button or even Nico beat him because they are top draw drivers but if Bottas starts doing that then his stock is down the toilet. The hype train comes crashing down not even the British press can protect him then. This request didn't even come when Rosberg was breathing down his neck. Now he is all concerned about data sharing, the turdboy is just too transparent it's not even funny.

    • Bottas doesn't have to win the championship, just score the same or more points or have more wins to his name, any statistic that makes turdboy look subpar. There is no guarantee mercedes will be at the sharp end to a guaranteed title so title is not a requirement to bring mayhem at merc , at least for the whiner's part of the garage.

    • Would be nice if Bottas dominated Hamilton, but we'll have to wait and see.
