Lewis Hamilton has said that his recent comments around team mate data sharing was not an attack on fellow Mercedes driver Valtteri Bottas.
Hamilton recently spoke out about how he is against the fact that team mates can easily study each others data to gain an advantage. Many jumped on the idea that he was worried about what his new team mate Bottas would see, but has since squashed the rumours.
"I wish to clarify, I have not hit out at my team at all," the three time world champion said on Twitter. "My point on data sharing is solely my feelings about the sport in general. It has been my feeling since the day I started F1 and still is 10 years later. There is zero problems in my team, zero problems with Bottas. Whatever happens, TeamLH we got this!"
Bottas becomes Hamilton's fifth team mate and only twice has Hamilton been outscored in a season (2011, 2016). Bottas will surely be looking to make it three, as he steps up into a potential championship winning car.
