Hamilton: "Bottas a better teammate than Rosberg"

Lewis Hamilton admits he is loving having Valtteri Bottas as his teammate. Bottas is Hamilton's second teammate at Mercedes after the Brit partnered Nico Rosberg for four years. Their partnership was overshadowed by the intense battles they shared from 2014 to 2016.

Rosberg retired from the sport in 2016, prompting Bottas to move up to the team from Williams. Hamilton is currently ahead of the Finn in the standings by 36 points. Mercedes scored their first one-two of the season in Canada, something Hamilton says feels better with Bottas than it did with Rosberg.

"Yes, with Valtteri it's just different. It feels better than a 1-2 with Nico," the three-time world champion said. "Valtteri supports me a lot. It's professionally seen a completely different level. As a team, we are more united than ever. And it's the other way around also, I help and support Valtteri too.

Mercedes motorsport boss Toto Wolff supports the claim of Hamilton. "You only have to look at the interaction between our current drivers on the podium. It is completely different from how it was with Lewis and Nico."
