The nation of Denmark is the latest to show interest in hosting a Formula 1 Grand Prix. Since Liberty Media's acquisition of F1 in January, there have been reports of many countries and cities interested in bringing motorsport's pinnacle to their respected circuits.
BT newspaper reports that Danish businessman Lars Seier Christensen met with Liberty Media this week London to discuss a potential deal. The race would be hosted in the capital of Copenhagen, with a look towards making an entry in 2020.
"Before anything," he said, "it was important to achieve the political will and support of Liberty Media. It was a very positive meeting in London, and now I will spend the next six months systematically gathering the necessary investors."
The report said a street layout, passing city landmarks, would be headed by F1 track designer Hermann Tilke: "Tilke says it would not be a problem to construct an exciting track in the middle of Copenhagen," Christensen confirmed.
There is currently one Danish driver on the grid - Hass' Kevin Magnussen. Magnussen has welcomed the news and states that he would love to see F1 in hi home country: "Oh wow, how cool! I really hope they manage to bring Formula 1 to Copenhagen."
The government may also be on board, with industry minister Brian Mikkelsen saying: "When we go public with plans, it is because it looks more and more realistic. I think Formula 1 would be tremendous branding for Copenhagen."

It would have to be a street circuit, as we only have a few Micky Mouse sized tracks.
At the end of the day, it's not going to happen, for a multitude of reasons.

A Scandinavian GP would be awesome. We could take turns hosting it.

"Tilke says it would not be a problem to construct an exciting track in the middle of Copenhagen" Wouldn't be worth watching.Leave the street circuits to Formula E.
