Max Verstappen believes that rumours linking him to Ferrari are positive, even though Red Bull is adamant he will remain at the energy drink team. The 19-year-old had a string of poor luck prior to the British Grand Prix, retiring from five races.
His name has been linked to the famous Ferrari squad, as both Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen are out of contract by the end of the year. Verstappen's current deal reportedly runs out at the end of 2019, with Helmut Marko saying that not even 100 million would allow the Dutchman to leave.
"100 million? Cool, I'm more expensive than a footballer!" Verstappen laughed at Silverstone. "It is always very positive when someone values you like that. I am not talking about what's happening. I have a contract with Red Bull, and we'll see." When asked if the contract really does run until 2019, Verstappen answered: "I'm not talking about the term, but right now I have a contract."
Turn of fortunes for Verstappen
Verstappen finished the British Grand Prix, his first non-DNF since Monaco. The young star drove steadily to P4 and claims that it was a very positive day: "It was a positive day. I am happy to finish the race and get some solid points once again.
"We got a bit lucky with Seb's puncture at the end and I pitted to be safe as I knew I had enough room behind me. The front left didn't feel great and having seen what happened to the Ferrari we played it safe. If I had seen Kimi pit at the end I may have stayed out to try and get a jump on him, but we made the precautionary stop to make sure we finished."

Maybe the guys at Ferrari consider Max´s hard driving in 1:1 fights.
He is in my opinion the guy that liftet the aggressiveness in wheel to wheel fights to another level.. Maybe to the level from the 80ies to the mid 90ies..
So i can´t imagine Ferrari now considering Max as Seb´s team-mate now and in the next let´s say 4-5 years -where i think Seb is clearly the No.1 driver at Ferrari..
-> Let´s recall Marcchiones statement that Seb could get a lifetime contract at Ferrari..
