Felipe Massa appears to have made a full recovery from the illness he suffered at the Hungarian Grand Prix. The Brazilian began to feel very unwell after the second practice session and it was decided after the final practice session that he would not be competing in the rest of the weekend while reserve driver Paul di Resta came into fill in.
Massa was diagnosed with labyrinthitis, a virus that attacks the inner ear. The virus had affected a number of other people inside the paddock, including ex-driver turned commentator Martin Brundle. It was speculated whether or not Massa would be fully fit for a return after the summer break.
It does seem that Massa will be racing again in Belgium, at a track that should be strong for Williams. The former Ferrari driver currently has 23 points in the championship, just 5 more than teammate Lance Stroll, and sits eleventh in the standings.
