Formula 1 is reportedly planning five live demo events throughout the 2018 season, following the success of London Live last year. Despite just a two-day notice, around 100,000 people turned up to see F1 cars from past and present take to the streets of England's capital.
All 10 F1 teams and 19 of the drivers attended the outing. The sheer success of the event has convinced F1's chiefs to go further with the project. Liberty Media's Sean Bratches explained how it hopes to plan the events.
"We plan something similar in Marseille, Berlin, Milan, Shanghai and Miami, but not with so many cars," he told Auto Motor und Sport. "We believe that this contact of Formula 1 with the audience outside the racetrack is important. It also carries our message to people we would not otherwise reach.
"Formula 1 has been so exclusive over the years, that it was only accessible to interested people. The same applies to sponsors. There is a lot of interest from companies for these events that are not yet in F1."
The events will be held on the same week as the Grand Prix weekend in each respected nation. Events in Marseille and Berlin come as the French and German Grands Prix return to the calendar for the upcoming season.

I liked what they did in Texas last year. There was a lot of good stuff to watch on the youtube, like the drivers getting out on stage and putting on a bit of a show. Also funny light-hearted gaming with the Red Bull drivers. They were great on the camera.
