Sauber has confirmed that Jan Monchaux has joined the team, taking on the role of its Head of Aerodynamics. Monchaux has previous experience working with Toyota and Ferrari, and spent the last five years as Audi's Head of Vehicle Engineering and Aerodynamics.
Sauber's 2018 season began much as its 2017 campaign ended, as the Swiss team once again appear to be the outright backmarkers. Having previously formed a new partnership formed with Alfa Romeo, Sauber has now drafted in Monchaux to boost its technical department.
The Franco-German will begin his work with immediate effect, replacing Nicolas Hennel de Beaupreau who will take on a new role within the aerodynamic department. Technical boss Jorg Zandar says that he is delighted with Sauber's newest recruit.
"I’m very much looking forward to the arrival of Jan Monchaux as the new Head of Aerodynamics," he said. "It marks an important step of a wider project that aims at strengthening and implementing the Alfa Romeo Sauber F1 Team in line with the targets and the results we want to achieve on tracks."

Not a bad CV, will be interesting to see if he can bring something to the team. Good to see Sauber investing instead of just trying to survive.
