Toto Wolff admits that Mercedes look to be in a bit of trouble heading into qualifying for the Bahrain Grand Prix. The Silver Arrows have struggled so far this weekend in Bahrain, failing to top any of the three free practice sessions.
In the final 60-minute session on Saturday, reigning world champion Lewis Hamilton struggled with his W09. On his fast laps, he was seen running wide and tackling oversteer. The Briton will take a five-place grid penalty after the team changed his gerarbox.
And Wolff says that heading into qualifying, the team isn't looking as strong as it would hope: "We don't look Jesus-like today and with the grid penalty we are doing everything we can to make (the show) spectacular.
"Let's see if the temperatures when it is cooling down makes it better for us, but certainly it is one of the more difficult weekends. We want to have a clean session and see where that ends up."
Speaking about Hamilton's grid drop, he stated: "This is motor racing, these things happen and sometimes things go wrong."
