Lance Stroll believes that he is more consistent after his second season in Formula 1, despite the massive struggles that hit Williams in 2018. The Grove squad was the grid's backmarkers, ending the year bottom of the championship with seven points.
Stroll will drive for Racing Point in 2019 after his father took over the team following its all into administration. The Canadian made his debut for the team at the post-seasn Abu Dhabi test, driving the VJM-11 during the two days of running.
"I've definitely been more consistent," Stroll said to Autosport when reflecting on his season. "When I haven't been there or I've made mistakes, it's been on less of a scale compared to last year.
"Last year, when I was on a high it was really good and the position was good and when I struggled I really, really struggled. But now, I'm a bit more consistent. But it's dominated by the fact we weren't competitive and, therefore, as a driver there's only so much you can do in qualifying and the race."
Stroll is hoping that the difficult season he endured with Williams will give him a lot to learn and grow from, with 2009 world champion Jenson Buton often stating that tough years gave him more knowledge than successful campaigns.
"Perhaps that could be the case, I can only let you know later on in my career when I have more experience, more knowledge. But it's just about living in the moment and trying to make the most of what I have today. I'm sure in many ways, I've learned a lot and it will be beneficial down the line."

Time will tell. You'll be up against Perez of House Force India, King of Mexico and the jajajas, maintainer of tyres, breaker of Hulks, father of big wads of sponsor cash. If you are even close to be on par with him, I'll be impressed, and the careful optimism I had for you went away for no reason.

"...King of Mexico and the jajajas, maintainer of tyres, breaker of Hulks, father of big wads of sponsor cash..." ..LOL.
I agree, But I do think he will be much improved, getting out of Williams will do wonders for him... I expect him to be close after the first half of the season....
