Haas unveils Rich Energy inspired 2019 livery

Haas is the first Formula 1 team to offer a sighting of a 2019 livery, as it threw the wraps off its brand new design for the upcoming season. The colours offer a change from the usual white, black and red colours it has used in the three years in F1 up to this point.

The car is mainly black with plenty of gold Rich Energy slots around the car. The energy drink company signed as Haas' title sponsor for the 2019 last October.

Haas used its 2018 car at the launch, but did attach a 2019 spec front wing with some Rich Energy logos on it.

The team has retained its line-up of Romain Grosjean and Kevin Magnussen for the year, its third campaign with that duo. Last year, Magnussen scored almost double Grosjean's point as the Frenchman struggled during the opening half of the year.

Haas endured a successful 2018 campaign, battling Renault for fourth in the constructors' standings. However, it lost out and had to settle for fifth in the standings, which marked its best results since it started in Formula 1 in 2016.

Haas team principal Guenther Steiner said: “It’s important that we keep progressing as a team, and this season is no different. Our partnership with Rich Energy is another positive example of moving forward as an organisation.

"We’re pleased to see their colours on the VF-19, we welcome them as they join our valued partner group in utilising Formula 1 as a global marketing platform. While 2018 delivered our best season to-date, the year showed, sometimes sharply, that we still have areas to improve on as a team.

"On-track, our push for performance started early with the VF-19, our next step is to get to Spain and utilise our time there wisely to prepare for Australia.”

I like it... reminds me a little of that JPS-Lotus from -78 (but that one was much cooler)

Looks like Renault Lotus form 2011 on... Good but not... "Gold"

    • Agree, very similar to that livery. I hope Renault will have more yellow in their livery to better differentiate the two.

    • It's nice, although like so many things with Haas I feel it lack in creativity and underachieved a bit. A mean, it's nice because those colors go well together. But there's hardly anything unique about it. Looks like stock sponsorship. But again, that being said, it's massive improvement from last year's hideous livery

    • Yeah, of the possible combination this colour could lead to, this is the most baseline. Neither great or ugly, and neither cool or coffin.

  • Orange is the new black.
We have seen this livery coming back year after year.
It doesn't make the car faster, so let's see what they've got ...

    • Kinda, but I find it more similar to the more recent Genii-Lotus liveries. The JPS liveries were more elegant.

    • Agree, it does kind of remind me of the Lotus too. I like it though. Not flashy but Darth Vaderishly tough looking.

  • Pretty Slick IMO. Hard to go wrong with a black car with white and gold highlights. Black on an F1 car looks badass, kinda like the Hulks helmet last year. Totally badass!

    • Its a very traditional F1 livery, one that I've missed and now am glad to see back, even if it isn't the most elegant its been. I might be an outlier when I say I'll miss the Martini livery though, really liked that one too.
