The Sauber Junior Team has announced its plans for the 2019 season, as its places its drivers across the junior motorsport series' in partnership with the Charouz Racing System.
For the FIA Formula 2 championship, the team will be renamed Sauber Junior Team by Charouz. It will run with Callum Ilott for the year, who will race alongside GP3 graduate Juan Manuel Correa.
In the brand new FIA Formula 3 championship that will have its inaugural season this year, the team will field Fabio Scherer, Lirim Zendeli and Raoul Hyman, while in F4, it will race with Alessandro Ghiretti, Roman Stanek and Theo Pourchaire.
"The Sauber Junior Team is heading into the 2019 season with a strong line-up in the FIA single-seater categories – F2, F3 and F4,” said Alfa Romeo Racing team principal and CEO of Sauber Frederic Vasseur.
“Our project was launched with the goal of passing on our experience to young drivers and providing a platform where they can successfully develop their skills and come closer to their dream of racing at the pinnacle of motorsport one day. We look forward to our collaboration and will follow the progress of these young talents closely.”
Sauber announced its joint partnership with Charouz last November, which was launched with the aim of guiding and managing talented young drivers on the route to Formula 1.
