Nico Hulkenberg and Antonio Giovinazzi have been summoned to the Stewards following a collision between the two during the opening free practice session in Bahrain.

Towards the end of the session, Hulkenberg moved to let the Alfa Romo of Kimi Raikkonen by, but then blocked the second Alfa of Giovinazzi.

Giovinazzi then drew alongside the Renault driver and put up his hand in frustration, before the two came together which saw Giovinazzi's car lift off the road.

Both cars escaped without noticeable damage, but the Stewards have called on both to attend a briefing, in which they will both account for the incident.

A similar incident occurred last year at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, when Romain Grosjean and Pierre Gasly touched during the final practice session.

Both drivers walked away from the accident with no penalties, despite Gasly suffering bodywork damage.
