Lance Stroll firmly believes that Rating Point is in the fight for fourth place in the constructors' championship this year.
The team endured a tough pre-season test with limited running due to spare parts, but has racked up a surprising number of points at the opening four races of the year.
The team has managed to get one car inside the top ten at every race so far, with Baku seeing a double points finish as Sergio Perez grabbed its best result of 2019, crossing the line in P6.
The pink panthers are currently fifth in the constructors' table, one point behind McLaren.
“Absolutely, we’re aiming for a big result this season," Stroll said immediately after the race in Baku. "There’s a long way to go though, it’s early days.
“Every point is critical, and today was a great example of that, both cars in the points.
“It’s a big jump for the team, and we’re going to have to see some more of that over the year.”
Like most teams, Racing Point will bring a major upgrade to the Spanish Grand Prix next weekend, which it hopes will allow it to keep pushing towards the head of the midfield.
"It’s going to be a development race all the way to the end of the season,” Stroll added.
“The midfield is very, very tight, just a couple of tenths between fourth to ninth teams, so it’s very, very tight, but it’s going to be a good battle all the way to the end and we’re going to try and bring some pace to Barcelona.”
