Mercedes has vowed to keep the red star on its livery forever in tribute to Niki Lauda, who passed away earlier this week.
The Silver Arrows painted one of its miniature stars red for Lauda ahead of the weekend, while after Thursday's running, it also turned its halo red.
The bright halo will be a one-off, team boss Toto Wolff confirmed, but the red star is set to remain Mercedes W10 and its future cars forever.
"We have done a few things," said Wolff. "I'm really happy how we started off this weekend with the red halo, and the little star which is going to stay on the car forever, and the signature. It was nicely done.
"So beyond that, unless we find something which we really believe is worth Niki Lauda, then this is what we're doing."
Many other teams have displayed tributes for Lauda on their cars in memory of the deceased champion, who in recent years, worked as Mercedes' non-executive chairman.
It is believed that Lauda's funeral will take place next Wednesday at St. Stephens Cathedral in Vienna at 13:00 local time.
Luda will reportedly be buried in racing overalls and his coffin will be accompanied to the hearse by Formula 1 drivers.
Fans and the public will be able to pay their respects to Lauda fan between 08:00 and 12:00 that morning.
