Racing Point's Lance Stroll affirms his RP19 'felt alive' after some positive running during Friday's practice sessions in Montreal.

Stroll noted how the team also had much more improved running on Friday as opposed to other practice sessions at recent race weekends.

Racing Point is also running the upgraded Phase 2 Mercedes for the weekend, and Stroll commented that the engine is definitely an improvement on the initial engine that the team started the season with.

"The car feels alive at the moment which is good", Stroll said. "I'm sure there's stuff we can improve on as always leading up to qualifying and the race, but both performance runs and the high fuel runs seemed promising.

"For sure the other teams will work hard overnight, so the key is to remain composed going into tomorrow and see what we can do."

Stroll comes together with Grosjean

Friday's practice wasn't without incident for Stroll on his home circuit however, as he suffered a slight coming together with Haas' Romain Grosjean during first practice.

Stroll went to pass Grosjean at the end of the straight when the pair slightly touched wheels as Stroll moved across to the racing line, with Grosjean showing his opinion through team radio and a hand gesture at Stroll.

"There was a bit of contact into the last chicane so I have to watch the video." Stroll said. "I'm not entirely sure what happened but I kept going."
