Haas set to return to grey livery

The Haas Formula 1 team is set to return to a grey livery in 2020, which will be its fifth season in the sport. 

Last year Haas ran with black and gold colours, originally painted to represent the colours of Rich Energy, who it signed as a title sponsor

In September, Haas confirmed that it had formally ended all connections with the energy drink squad following months of controversies involving the British company. 

Haas retained the black and gold colours, but removed all Rich Energy branding from the car.

For the 2020 season, Auto Motor und Sport reports that Haas is set to return to the grey livery that it used prior to signing with Rich Energy.

Black and red will also reportedly complement the livery, as it did in 2018 when Haas ended the season fifth in the constructors' championship. 

Last year, the team struggled throughout the year with its race pace and closed out the season up second to last in the standings at the end of the campaign.

  • Bit of a shame, liked their Lotusesque livery, but I see the logic. Still, wasn't the old livery more white than grey?

    • Same here. I feel prior to the black and gold they had by far the worst livery of the grid. At least the most unimaginative

    • Oh yes, the livery they had right before Rich was incredibly boring. At the very least it'll have some red in it again, which is nice.

    Lets hope they will find a few new sponsors for 2020! A racing car needs sponsors and makes it more pretty to my opinion. Rather see the Haas sign missing and a decent ''paying'' sponsor.
