Renault has confirmed that Pat Fry will join as its technical director for the 2020 Formula 1 season.
The Enstone squad announced last November that it had signed the Briton, however his role was not specified.
This has now been clarified by Renault, who has also announced that he will begin work on February 5th - before the start of the new season.
Fry will also be present when the team launches its 2020 car in Paris on February 12th.
Back when the team was known as Bennetton, Fry worked there before making the switch to McLaren in 1993.
After a lengthy stint at McLaren, he moved to Ferrari in 2010 before two short stints at Manor in 2016 and then back at McLaren last year.
Fry joins Renault as the team aims to bounce back from a disappointing 2019 season that saw it lose out on the 'best of the rest' spot in the championship to McLaren.

Might be one of their best decisions in a long time, after hiring their current drive line-up of course. Sick of seeing the French-bashing that happens on this site. Would expect to see more of that on a Brit site than a Dutch one.
