Antonio Felix da Costa has been linked with a move to Andretti for the third Formula E season.
The move would see the Portuguese driver, who has driven for the recently-sold Aguri team since the series' inception, team up with former Formula Renault 3.5 rival Robin Frijns.
While da Costa has not confirmed the move, he has said he has options for next season, and has spoke highly of potential team mate Frijns.
"I have a number of options, I do not think I'll stick with my current team," he said. Robin Frijns is a nice guy and we have a lot of fun off the track. Our battles on the track are always fair."
There has also been speculation that da Costa's move to Andretti could be part of a partnership between the American brand and BMW, whom the former Red Bull Formula One tester drives for in DTM.
However, Andretti already has a partnerships with rival brands Honda and Volkswagen in IndyCar and Global Rallycross, making such a deal unlikely.
According to insiders, BMW is also not interested in Formula E at the moment, despite supplying the series with course cars and safety cars.
The Munich manufacturer wants to wait until cars can make the full race distance before showing an interest in the series - something that is not expected until the fifth season.
