Swedish motor company Volvo is eyeing up the Formula E series in an attempt to promote their electric road cars.
Volvo wants to sell one-million electrified cars by 2025, and promoting its products in Formula E would help raise awareness about the brand and its support for electrification.
The only thing is, Volvo itself doesn’t align with motorsports, so it would be campaigned under the Polestar banner, the automaker’s performance brand.
The manufacturer already sits as a part of the Formula E Manufacturers’ Advisory Group, with participation in the sport itself now realistic as the all-electric series continues to gain support and interest from large companies.
Formula E will enter its third season in October and it is expected a record number of people will tune in to watch, after two captivating seasons which saw Nelson Piquet Jr. and Sebastian Buemi win the first two drivers championships.

Of all the series they would enter, it would be FE. Its nice to see them entering more serious motorsport, but FE wasnt very relevant from the start. Why not SGT? Its relevant, and the cars are more and more lining up to become hybrids with small yet very powerful engines (e.g an inline 4 producing 600+ HP).
