Lucas di Grassi has driven a Formula E car on an ice cap in Greenland as part of a series initiative to combat global warming.
Marking the first time a single seater car has been driven in such conditions, di Grassi completed a number of runs on the ice in one of Formula E's promotional cars, sporting an updated livery ahead of season three which begins in Beijing next month.
"With the earth experiencing the warmest year on record, the amount of sea ice breaking away from the Arctic has reached historic new levels," FOrmula E said in a statement. "To raise awareness of this crucial and pressing issue, Formula E joined forces with Julius Bär, Visa, DHL, Schaeffler Group, The Prince Albert Foundation II and Mumm to bring this spectacular event to life."
