Pierre Gasly secured yet another GP2 pole position after an exciting qualifying session which saw a him come out on top for the fourth time this season.
The Red Bull jnior admitted that it was not an easy task in taking pole but that he is delighted about the result.
"It was not an easy session with all the drama that happened on track. I’m really happy about this result, it’s good to get another pole," he said. "I’m not so happy about what I’ve done because I actually didn’t manage to do a good lap."
"I made a mistake in the last sector in my fastest lap so I didn’t take full advantage of the car. I’m not 100% happy about what I’ve done but I’m really happy for the team as we are P1 and P2," he added. "I must say I’m really impressed with their hard work. It has been a good session overall."
When asked if tyre degradation would be a big factor for the race tomorrow he said: "Yes, definitely because of the high temperatures. I think we have never been on a track that hot so far."
"In my two years in GP2 Series, I’ve never seen something like this so it’s going to be really tough, but quite exciting for the fans and the spectators," he said.
