Former Formula One driver Pastor Maldonado is being linked with a return to motorsport with Manor in the World Endurance Championship.
The Venezuelan has been out of a drive since being replaced by Kevin Magnussen at the start of the year but could be in line for a seat at Manor in next month's six hour race in Mexico.
Alfonso Toledano, who races for Manor alongside Tor Graves, has said there is a chance Maldonado could join the former F1 team.
"We know there is still a place in the team," said Gonzalez. "We do not know who will occupy it, but we've heard that it can be an experienced driver from Formula One."
"It could be Pastor Maldonado. Now, the team does not have a decision so we need to wait, we are waiting to confirm the third driver."
