Dave O'Neill is de nieuwe teammanager van het Haas Formule 1-team dat vanaf 2016 op de grid staat. Naast O'Neill zijn door teambaas Gunther Steiner nog een aantal andere bekende Formule 1-gezichten naar de Amerikaanse renstal gelokt.
Zo wordt volgens Auto Motor und Sport voormalig Red Bull-medewerker Rob Taylor de hoofdontwerper en krijgt Ferrari's Ben Agathangelou de leiding op de aerodynamica-afdeling. Volgens het Duitse blad hebben Taylor en Agathangelou al schaalmodel gebouwd waarmee in de windtunnel getest wordt.
De auto waarmee Haas in 2016 in de Formule 1 wil debuteren, is gebaseerd op de huidige Ferrari F15 T. De auto zal volledig getest worden in de windtunnel in Maranello. "Ondanks het feit dat we al een eind zijn gekomen, is er nog een lange weg te gaan voor de eerste Grand Prix van 2016", vertelt Steiner. "De samenwerking met Ferrari helpt ons een auto en een team op te bouwen. Het is een nieuwe en afwijkende manier om de Formule 1 te betreden."

@Hunt James, nou ik ben erg benieuwd naar Haas en hun samenwerking met Ferrari. Nu heb ik het idee dat het een soort Red Bull Toro Rosso constructie is. Maar kan er nergens informatie over vinden. Vandaar mijn (misschien) wat onduidelijke vraag.

Ex-Caterham Formula 1 test driver Robin Frijns could make a switch to sportscar racing this season with the WRT Audi team in the Blancpain GT Series.
Frijns, who won the Formula Renault 3.5 title in 2012, will try one of WRT's fleet of Audi R8 LMS ultras over the course of the two-day official Blancpain Endurance Series test at Paul Ricard on Wednesday and Thursday.
The 23-year-old Dutchman will be joined at WRT by former Peugeot LMP1 reserve driver Jean-Karl Vernay over the course of the test.
WRT team boss Vincent Vosse explained that both drivers were under consideration for drives in the BES and the sister Blancpain Sprint Series, which together make up the 'GT Series'.
"We will do the tests and then try to find agreements with them for this season; I hope we can do something together," Vosse told AUTOSPORT.
WRT will run four Audis in the BSS and four in the BES, with the exception of the Silverstone and Nurburgring rounds when it will field three cars.
It has yet to formalise its line-ups across the two series and is aiming to announce its full roster of drivers on March 26.
Team regular Frank Stippler and Briton James Nash are confirmed for the BSS, as are former Le Mans 24 Hours winner Stephane Ortelli and GP2 race winner Stephane Richelmi, who contested three end-of-season races with WRT last season.
Audi factory driver Laurens Vanthoor, who won the 2014 'GT Series' title and the 2013 FIA GT crown with the Belgian team, is expected to be part of its line-up and will take part in the test this week.
Porsche Carrera Cup France racer Sacha Bottemane will also drive a WRT Audi at the test.
